Guides are to bring an item or picture of an item that pertains to an aspect of Total Defence and do a presentation on it. Their presentation should cover the following key points:
§ Which aspect(s) of Total Defence is the item related to? How/ Why?
§ What is the function/purpose of this item?
§ How is it usually used? Where can it usually be found?
§ How can you use this item to enhance our Total Defence capability?
Examples:
Psychological Defence: Recording of the National Anthem, Picture of our National Flower
Social Defence: Items pertaining to the various ethnic groups’ cultures, festivals, costumes, food, etc.
Economic Defence: energy-efficient light bulb
Civil Defence: First Aid Kit
Military Defence : pictures/ articles on keeping fit
Clause 2 Model Building ( COMBINED PATROLS):
1. Bring any five recycled items (e.g., old newspapers/magazines, glue, string, stapler and sticky tape) and any other relavant items.
2. Construct a model or sculpture that it feels best represents Total Defence, using recycled materials.
3. Prepare a short presentation to explain the concept/ideas behind it
Salad making Clause 3( NORMAL PATROLS):
1. Per patrol to prepare a salad to represent Total defence.
2. Per patrol's salad should consist of at least 5 types of fruits and vegetables and salad dressing.
3.Per patrol will be given 20 mins to prepare their salad in the canteen
4.To give a short presentation on your salad: Reasons for how it is decorated, colours and shapes and what they represent etc.
NOTE: Clause 3 will be conducted on 7 sept ( wed). Sec 1s to prepare ingredients for salad making (e.g. Fruits, veg and salad dressing) and utensils ( E.g. Knife, chopping board, plate )
